SPPC Board of Directors Meeting

1. The meeting of the SPPC Board of Directors was held on May 20, 2007.
   
   
2. This was the first meeting of the new board who were elected in March 2007. The SPPC new board members are Hossein Hariri, Leyla Niese, Ali Razban, Behrooz Vakily and Cresta Vossoughi. Siavash Beik, on behalf of the Nominating Committee, opened the meeting with an introduction on the history of SPPC. He pointed out that in 2 years SPPC will be 20 years old and this is a good achievement.
   
   
3. The need to make changes in bylaws were discussed. A meeting on Sunday July 29th will be held to pursue the discussion.
   
   
4. Officers were elected as follows: Behrooz Vakily (president), Leyla Niese (Vice President), Hossein Hariri (Secretary/Treasurer), Ali Razban and Cresta Vossoughi are board members at large.
   
   
5. Responsibilities were decided as follows:
   • Nowruz – Behrooz Vakily, Leyla Niese, Cresta Vossoughi
   • Yalda - Leyla Niese, Ali Razban
   • International Festival – Farbod Shafiei, Cresta Vossoughi
   • Lecture program – Mahvash Hariri, Hossein Hariri
   • Picnic – Ali Razban, Cresta Vossoughi (picnics after June), Behrooz Vakily (June)
   • Children Nowruz - Cresta Vossoughi, Leyla Niese
   
   
6. Next meeting will be held on Monday June 25th to discuss the organization of programs.
